They reduce the flow. They can be Concentric or Eccentric Reducers.

The Concentric Reducer serves the function of a coupling but connecting different diameters. Both ends remain centered.

The Eccentric Reducer has ends with different centers, allowing condensation in the line to accumulate and be removed more easily.
